The Village of Gold River recently undertook a complete review and update of our Asset Management Plan (AMP). The update required a substantial review and update to our Risk, Condition, and Levels of Service as well as our policies and governance approaches. ASI did a great job of anticipating and mitigating Village resource capacities and knowledge shortfalls by providing examples and mentoring staff involved with the project. Staff on every level were involved or invited to be involved with questionnaires and surveys with appropriately targeted information to make their inputs relevant, help them understand the project, and to garner buy-in to the process and finished product. As can be imagined in doing such a project with a small Village client; there were times that the client was the threat to the schedule due to our own capacities, and ASI did a great job of being helpful, but also patient with our review and survey response timelines. They stuck to the original contract budget with very clear invoices so that we always knew where we were and what was left. At the end of the project, we had surplus financing, and we were able to engage ASI to assist with Asset Management Software procurement to help us better maintain our asset registry and to keep up with planning and tracking maintenance and incremental renewals.
